JOB DESCRIPTION: APAC Technical Support Engineer
Location
Job Description / Responsibilities
- Provide Internal and external global customer support
- Provide customer support on site, via phones, email, and web-based tools
- Use browser-based tools to manage customer issues
- Ongoing contribution to technical knowledge base; examples are: tech notes, app notes, and review of information
- Troubleshoot problems with RADIUS servers and networking equipment such as routers and switches
- Work closely with the Sales department to understand customer’s environment and with Engineering departments (such as development and QA) for fault isolation and resolution
- Contribute to product development, features, and roadmap through customer feedback
- Paid rotating on-call pager support for premium customers
- Use various network monitoring tools (software and hardware debugging tools), such as Ethereal/Wireshark and Airopeek
- Replicating customer reported issues
- Support trouble shooting in the field when required
- Take full ownership of the customer’s technical issues and perform tasks like problem and progress report, on site trouble shooting, SW upgrades...
Requirements
- BS CS/EE or equivalent experience
- 5+ years of Technical Support experience (if possible in the Wireless field)
- Minimum of 5 years of networking background
- Solid understanding of common enterprise network architectures
- Solid understanding of TCP/IP, L2 Switching, Windows Operating Systems
- Strong interpersonal skills required
- Clear and effective verbal/written communication skills in both Chinese (Mandarin) and English
- Strong troubleshooting abilities
- Self motivated
- Strong desire to learn new technologies
- Ability to function in a fast-paced environment as a member of an experienced technical team
- Travel Required
Experience Desired
- Experience with wireless protocols such as 802.11 and 802.1x a plus
- Experience with QoS, VLAN, and RADIUS servers a plus
- Working Knowledge of VoIP protocols a plus
- One or more Cisco network certifications a plus
- Information Security background a plus
- CWNP certifications a plus
